Rotterdam-based pianist and composer Yiorgos Bereris presents his debut album Laros, an original work that blends east-mediterranean sounds with jazz. Inspired by the ancient Greek word Laros, which was used to describe something pleasant to see or hear, Bereris' album showcases his unique sound, balancing the contemporary jazz piano trio with traditional east- mediterranean elements.

Composed during his last years in Corfu and developed in Rotterdam, Laros is a harmonious blend of styles, featuring a Balkan-inspired brass section and combining lyrical melodies with energetic grooves.

Recorded in Athens in 2023 and fully released in April 2024, the album is the result of a creative collaboration with some of Greece's finest jazz musicians, creating a unique canvas that is both rootsy and innovative.
